In the fashion industry, bespoke suits are for men as couture dresses are for women. The bespoke suit is a carefully crafted ensemble specifically intended for one client. Even if it has a simple design, there’s nothing else completely like it because it is tailored just for you.
We, at AlphaSuit, believe in the same thing. This is why we have a very specific method of creating the perfect bespoke suit for each one of our clients. We go to great lengths to make sure that everything about the finished product we present you is truly to your joy and liking.
Here’s how we go about the process of making the perfect bespoke suit:
The AlphaSuit Process
Step 1
First and foremost, we encourage you to explore our showroom, especially if it is your first time having a suit tailor-made for you. We want you to see a variety of examples to provide you some inspiration of what you want in a suit.
Step 2
Once you have made a selection or come up with the kind of suit design you want after looking at the suits on display, our consultant will discuss the different options with you, as well as the features of specific designs that make them special. You can also choose fabrics for your suit at this point.
Feel free to ask any questions about the designs and materials at this stage. Likewise, if there are any details that you particularly want to be included in your suit, this is the perfect time to tell us about them.
Step 3
After the consultation and “briefing,” we proceed to measurements. We always request our clients’ patience during this step of the process because we take around 30 measurements and then re-measure a few more times to ensure the most ideal fit.
We are quite stringent about taking our clients’ measurements, and need you to hold your posture in a few different ways. This is crucial because we want you to be able to move comfortably in your suit and for your suit to still look good as you go about your different activities.
Additionally, we take notes and even a few pictures so we do not miss any of the valuable components we need to incorporate into your suit.
Step 4
For a fully bespoke suit, you will have another fitting about four weeks later after you have placed your order. This is called the “baste fitting.” You may have already seen this step of the process in a few movies. This is when you wear the skeleton of the suit (the one with lines of tailor’s chalk) and we make a few more adjustments to the overall fit and length.
Our tailor usually takes a few more notes. By doing so, we can achieve the fit and silhouette that is most flattering for you.
Step 5
After another four weeks or so, we shall meet again and this time, it will be for the final fitting. We will present you with the final product and you will get to try it on.
Most of the time, this is the last step of our bespoke suit-making process. However, with our devotion to only delivering the perfect suit to our clients, we still can make a few alterations here and there to guarantee your complete satisfaction.
With you wearing the fully completed suit, we want you to tell us “how it feels.” Is it tight in certain areas, do you feel that the blazer needs to be tucked in a bit more around the waist, or do you find the length of the trousers a tad awkward?
Be honest with us because, as we have said before, we only want you to have the best suit. Therefore, inform us about the nips and tucks and other minor alterations that are necessary to truly make the suit flawless
If you have no complaints about the suit, then our job is complete.
